  1. NALA courses are tailored-fit to students’ intents and needs. Customized and personalized program structure is available to suit every aspect of your learning curves.

  3. Strict adherence on ENGLISH ONLY POLICY (EOP) must be uphold anywhere around the campus.
  4. Culture and Lifestyle differences are eminent in an International institution. Students are encourage to avoid culturally-sensitive topic like gender, religion, political vies and the like.
  5. Students are housed in a dormitory living with other schoolmates (roommates). Be guided to the following:
    1. Avoid cutting off students when and in discussions
    2. Be cordial and respect students personal space and activities
    3. Avoid taking other’s belongings without permission
    4. Respect other’s privacy and solitary time
  6. NALA Benchmarking is based on the Common European Standard Framework. To gauge the students true level, he/she has to be evaluated on the following:
    1. Progress Test results
    2. Instructor’s Evaluation
    3. Completion of assigned tasks e.g., Homework Assignments
  7. NALA’s Special Tutorial Program for students enables you to:
    1. Discuss on class changes (time, instructors, books, etc.).
    2. Evaluate students’ readiness to learn and advance to the next level.

    Furthermore, students are subject to Special Tutorial Program with the following:

    1. Failure to advance to the next level within a certain period.
    2. Level Retainers and/or falling to a lower level from the current benchmark.
    3. Unacceptable classroom behavior.
  8. Certificate of Completion (COC) is issued once the students have satisfactorily completed the program with:
    1. 99% Classroom Attendance
    2. Completed all necessary test sessions required by the institute
  9. Regular classes are held from Monday to Friday with Workshops in between Free Time and after Dinner. Evening Workshops available for students as optional classes to further review and/or learn the language more.
  10. Bulletin Boards are posted around the campus for notices and announcements. Students are encouraged to check the bulletin boards from time to time to avoid confusion and inconveniences.
  11. Students are advised to behave and with proper decorum, manner and etiquette.
    1. Wear appropriate clothing in class
    2. Observe proper personal hygiene
    3. Mobile phones should be turned-off or in silent mode while in class
  12. Students are prohibited to use the public computer station for games and personal chats.
  13. NALA is a WIFI HOTZONE, students are discouraged to download movies and other download so not to increase internet usage and avoid increased bandwidths.
  14. Notify the management to any known allergies (food, beverage, medication) and contagious illnesses for pre-cautions. Should you have any serious illnesses it would be advisable to seek medical attention.
  15. NALA is NOT RESPONSIBLE for any accident during personal travel and leisure.
  16. Notify the management should there be any incidents of fights, arguments amongst schoolmates and/or roommates.
  17. Academic Forms are available at the registrar area for:
    1. Overnight Stay-out Form
    2. Facility / Accommodation Issue Forms
    3. Laundry Checklist Forms
  18. CCTV Surveillance cameras are spread out around the campus and the dormitory for security purposes.
  19. 24/7 Security Guards are stationed on every floor of the dormitory, outside the building and at the campus to ensure safety and security.
  20. Other forms like “Overnight Stay-Out Forms and Request Forms are available at your stationed Security Guard post for your convenience.
  21. Meals are served three (3) times a day and are subject to the ratio of learners.
    1. Breakfast : 07:30 to 08:30
    2. Lunch : 12:00 to 12:50
    3. Dinner: 18:00 t0 19:00
  22. Both Dormitory and Campus facilities must utilized with great care. Should you find damages and/or vandalism must be reported to the management immediately. Students are prohibited to use nails, tapes and/or any other adhesive matters (e.g. duct tape, glue, bonds) on the walls. Parent accompanying junior students must strictly instruct children not to scribble on walls.
  23. Smoking Area has been designated for individuals who smoke. We strictly prohibit smoking in the dormitories and inside the campus. Caught doing so is penalized and is charged with USD 100.
  24. Laundry Service is available twice (2 time) a week with a maximum capacity of 12 kg per 4 weeks.
  25. Room service (cleaning/sheet change) is available based on schedules.
  26. BUDDY TEACHER SYSTEM
    1. Buddy Teachers are designed as your Counselor. He/she will help you through your class process and difficulties while staying here at NALA.
    2. A weekly consultation will be conducted by your Buddy Teacher to check your progress and concerns that are need to be attended.
  27. ISSUANCE OF WARNING LETTERS

The issuances of WARNING LETTERS are based on the following TABLE OF OFFENSES:
1.Absence without prior notice (two times a week)
2.Inappropriate class attitude e.g. Frequent tardiness and non-compliance from instructors
3.Sleeping Out of your dormitory without any prior notice
4.Interrupting & Disturbing other student’s class/study sessions
5.Smoking inside your accommodation & Bring in alcoholic beverages
6.Non-compliance to official instructions from the management

  1. ATTENDANCE POLICY

The training courses offered by NALA are predicated upon the presence of the student and requires continuity of instruction and classroom participation. Attendance shall be required of all students enrolled in NALA during the days and hours that the facility is in session. Attendance shall be the responsibility of the students.

Attendance Record

Instructors shall have the responsibility of encouraging regular attendance of students, maintaining accurate attendance records, and following reporting procedures prescribed by NALA as follows:

  1. Instructors shall record absentees each period of the training day and report absences as required by the facility;
  2. When a student has been absent three (3) consecutive days and the facility has been unable to ascertain the reason for the absences, the absences shall be investigated or at any other time if deemed necessary by the administrator.
  3. Absences must be reported in writing to the facility by the parent/guardian or adult student as soon as possible. Failure to report and explain the absence(s) shall result in unexcused absence(s). The final authority for determining acceptability of the reason for the absence(s) shall rest with the instructor and administrator.

A student/learner who is absent more than three (3) will not receive a passing grade for the training course.

Exceptions

Absences not counted in the attendance policy are:

  • Religious holidays
  • Illness with medical documentation
  • Chronic and extended illness
  • Absences for work

A student is considered to be present, if away from the facility on a school day and engaged in an educational activity that constitutes an approved instructional program or activity.

  • Make-Up Work
  • Tardiness 
  1. PROGRESS ASSESSMENT

Throughout the cycle of instruction, teachers use performance based assessments to monitor their students’ learning and progress.

At the end of the instructional cycle, teachers make promotion and retention decisions based on the following critical measures:

  • How well a student’s language performance matches the level description for the next appropriate level,
  • Mastery of performance objectives,
  • Ability to use language appropriate to the performance objectives,
  • Mastery of reading and writing development objectives, and
  • Attendance, participation, motivation, years of education, age, length of time in the US, and student self-assessment information.

Progress Tests are schedule ONCE in a month, every LAST FRIDAY of the month. This is designed to ensure appropriate level placement for students.

Provision: In which case the student is adamant NOT to change his/her TEACHERS, the student is given the option and is encouraged NOT to take the PROGRESS TEST and therefore retain his/her teachers and will ONLY take the PROGRESS TEST on his/her LAST FRIDAY prior to completion on the course. A SPECIAL WAIVER is provided to assure that the school is not LIABLE to the students’ PROGRESS TEST results.

  1. EXPLUSION POLICIES

Behaviors that leads to your IMMEDIATE EXPULSION:
1.3 Consecutive WARNING LETTERS
2.Violent and malicious acts after drinking
3.Altering and/or vandalizing any posted official document
4.Indecency in a dormitory
5.Violation of the Philippines laws such as a theft, drug transaction, prostitution (Unconditionally expelled for any activities relevant to drugs)
6.Dissemination of slander or false content on the web about the school
7.Copyright violation on the schools documents and official notices
